Mission
The mission of the True Freedom Foundation (TFF) is to create safer communities by sharing practical, mindfulness-based tools for realizing personal freedom, and by empowering those most at risk of being victimized. We place special emphasis on working with youth, empowering women, and helping incarcerated individuals to realize personal transformation.
Guiding Philosophy
Our guiding philosophy is that by helping people to realize freedom from suffering, we can create substantial, lasting, positive change within our families, our communities, and even throughout the world.
We work to employ skillful means for sharing practical, mindfulness-based tools for realizing freedom from the control of conditioned thought patterns and emotions. By helping people to overcome stress, fear, anger, and greed, and realize the true happiness and freedom that result, we believe that we are transforming the root causes of the problems we currently have in society, and that safer communities are a natural byproduct of this effort to relieve suffering.
Staff
We currently have no paid staff and are thus an all-volunteer organization.
Matthew Tenney is the instructor you see in the photos. He has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 1996 and has been practicing and teaching mindfulness since 2002.
